LODGING

Like the town itself, finding lodging in Cannon Beach can be a bit… different.

Some things to know when searching for hotels in Cannon Beach:

- We don’t have big chains. Most all of Cannon Beach’s hotels are privately owned. As such, big travel web sites may not capture all the hotels in Cannon Beach. A more hands-on search may be necessary.

And… this is a big one:

- Many hotels in Cannon Beach say that they require two night stays on weekends. This is super-important because if you only search for, say, a Friday in Cannon Beach, just to see what’s out there, numerous hotels won’t show up in the search. The search engines aren’t smart enough to let you know. Add Friday and Saturday and you’ll see a whole lot more sites pop up in search.

Now, if you can only come for one night…

- Call the front desk. Many hotels will be willing to rent you a room for just one night (especially on Saturdays!)—you just have to do it person-to-person, because, again, search engines are dumb.

Also, be sure to check AirBNB, VRBO and local companies such as Beach Comber Vacation Homes, Cannon Beach Property Management and more. While we’re generally not into the whole short-term rental scene, lots of these companies administer tiny hotels in the area—again, we’re a goofy, small town.

Now, some of our favorite hotels:

The Waves. Family owned for generations and a generous supporter of the Arts Colony. Located in downtown Cannon Beach. Walking distance of everything—including the theatre—and a great value.

Sea Breeze Court. Another family owned hotel and supporter of the Arts Colony. And a solid value. Located in “midtown” Cannon Beach. Close to Haystack Rock, but still within walking distance of the theatre.

Wave Crest Inn. The Wave Crest is a stylish, rustic and historic place to stay. It’s a little different—quiet, artistic, special. It's a few miles from the theatre. But, for the right people, who’re seeking that curated, quaint experience, Wave Crest is worth looking into.
